A SURVEY OF TECHNIQUES DEVELOPED FOR SYSTEMATIC SOLUTION OF THE OPTIMIZATION PROBLEM FOR SYNCHRONIZATION OF GROUPS OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS BASED ON DATA PROCESSING OF AVAILABLE TRAFFIC PARAMETERS

PREGLAD RAZVIJENIH TEHNIKA ZA SISTEMATSKO RJESAVANJE PROBLEMA OPTIMIZACIJE SINHRONIZIRANJA MREZNIH GRUPA PROMETNIH SIGNALA NA OSNOVI OBRADE PODATAKA POSTOJECIH PARAMETARA PROMETA

The author gives a survey of traffic control and regulation procedures by means of signalling equipment, starting from individual signalling equipment through configuration of centralized control systems, decentralized and partly centralized control to processor control by means of computers. A survey is made of well-known and widely recognized methods of simulating area control network groups, for stationary (DASAM, QUWAIT) and dynamic models (BERSIM). Of heuristic methods SIGOP is presented, while the combination method represents those using parts of graph theory and mathematical programming. The TRANSYT and PROST methods are given as examples of methods for networks with fixed time programming. /TRRL/
