TRIMS, TRIP REDUCTION INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
This paper describes a cooperative endeavor between the municipal government of Menlo Park, California, non-profit organizations and private industry to apply IVHS ATIS (Automated Traffic Information Systems) technology in a practical manner in the TRIMS Program, a geographically- based trip-planning database. The database contains information on public transit routes, schedules and fares, paratransit information, bicycle routes, ride-matching data and personal vehicle routing services.
