A COMPREHENSIVE METHOD FOR WHEEL TESTING BY STRESS ANALYSIS
A comprehensive wheel testing method is being described which permits reliable service life estimation. Stress analysis is done on a new type slow-rolling tests bench under simulated service loads. The fatigue strength of the material is determined by fatigue tests applying simulated service load programs on specially developed test specimens. When comparing the stress analysis data with the fatigue properties of the material a so-called "stress efficiency factor" is introduced. /GMRL/
