THE GENERATION AND UTILIZATION OF COMPUTER-ANIMATED PICTURES IN ROAD DESIGN

ATT GENEREA OCH UTNYTTJA DATORBERAEKNADE ROERLIGA BILDER VID PROJEKTERING AV TRAFIKLEDER

Computer graphics are an invaluable aid in road design. However, owing to transmission problems between computer and display, presentation of moving images has been difficult, and image quality low. The magneto-vision system developed at Chalmers Technical University, Gothenburg, comprises a processor between computer and display device which permits the transmission of fewer images, the intermediate ones being interpolated by the processor. This speeds up transmission. Programs now available include perspectives, sight distances, traffic flow calculations and noise distributions. /TRRL/
