PREPARING FOR A FIRE EMERGENCY
The author stresses the need for a plan which is then followed, and discusses the use of a "tailor-made" plan. Problems with modern ships, engine-room danger, modern smothering systems and special ships are then reviewed. The human element and the master's responsibility are considered.
