FINISHERS - GUIDANCE PROBLEM
LE FINISSEUR-PROBLEME DE GUIDAGE
The object of spreading machines, graders, finishers, autograders is to level the surface in an operation which varies in its simplicity and is not thoroughly known. One method of understanding this phenomenon consists in studying the theoretical transfer function of these types of equipment. This article studies the case of the finisher. Guidance of the finisher poses some problems, especially at the data collection stage. It is shown that geometric guidance alone is not sufficient and that satisfactory evenness of the surface depends on the stable equilibrium of the forces acting on the smoothing beam. /TRRL/
