STATISTICAL QUALITY CONTROL OF SHIPS' OUTFITTING EQUIPMENT--A CONSIDERATION FOR PURCHASED EQUIPMENT

The Authors members of an inspection department, had been using methods that were adequate to ensure the good quality of purchased outfitting equipment, but was obliged, for economic reasons, to rationalise their inspection methods. Sampling methods, for inspecting bought-out items manufactured to the department's drawings, were studied and found to be suitable from the standpoint of quality assurance.
