TRANSPORTATION NOISE BULLETIN

Four issues of the Transportation Noise Bulletin were published semi-annually (October and April) 1971 to 1973. A developmental issue was published March 1971. A separate Index To Transportation Noise Bulletin was published in 1972 and again in 1973 for the two issues of abstracts published during the respective years. The April 1973 issue (volume 2, number 2) of the Transportation Noise Bulletin was the final publication of the series and the Index to Transportation Noise Bulletin, Volume 2 1971-1973 was final and contained a cumulated subject term index, author/investigator index, and publisher/publication/performing organization index to all four semi-annual abstract bulletins. The semi-annual bulletins contain abstracts of journal articles, technical papers in conference proceedings and research reports; and resumes of ongoing research projects. The subject content of the published works cited by the abstracts and the ongoing research projects cited by the resumes pertain to sources, transmission, measurement and effects of transportation noise from all transport modes, acoustic technology, environmental impact of noise, and the political and legal aspects of noise. Each semi-annual issue contains indexes to the abstracts and resumes by subject/authorized terms, authors/investigators, and publishers/publications/performing orgainzations. The abstracts and resumes in each bulletin are arranged according to the TNRIS Classification scheme of 13 subject categories. Selections were made from nearly 1,000 sources. Coverage of the transportation noise literature was worldwide. All of the abstracts and resumes published in the Noise Bulletin are in the English language, however, the source document for the abstract is usually written in the language of the country of origin. Each issue contains availability infomration for acquisition of full text documents. The price of the two abstract bulletins of volume 2 is $5.00 each or $8.00 for the 2 volume 2 bulletins plus the separate volume 2 index.
