ACCURACY EVALUATION IN ELETRO-OPTIC DISTANCE-MEASURING INSTRUMENTS
The problems arising in the accuracy evaluation of electro-optic distance-measuring instruments are discussed. A simplified discussion of operating principles, specially tailored to error analysis, is followed by a comprehensive discussion of possible error sources. Tests for evaluating and isolating these errors are described in detail, and a recommended short schedule of tests is given. Possibilities of obtaining extended precision by means of special techniques are also considered. /Author/
