NEW FLIGHT DECK TECHNOLOGY WILL ALLOW PILOTS TO "SEE" THROUGH FOG AND CLOUD

SUBTITLE: DURING TAXIING, TAKE-OFF AND LANDING IN LOW VISIBILITY OR AT NIGHT, AN AIRCRAFT-MOUNTED INFRARED SENSOR CAN PROVIDE PILOTS WITH A CLEAR PICTURE OF THE AIRPORT ENVIRONMENT WELL BEYOND THEIR VISUAL RANGE. THE RESULTING IMPROVEMENTS IN SITUATIONAL AWARENESS ON THE FLIGHT DECK IS PREDICTED TO OFFER MAJOR SAFETY BENEFITS.
