A NOTE ON SOME ECONOMIC COEFFICIENTS FOR THE EVALUATION OF MERCHANT SHIPS
The literature on economic and financial matters concerning merchantship operation contains a large number of coefficients and indices. As their meaning is not always as clear as it might be, the Author (of the Istituto di Ingeneria Navale, Genoa) reviews the more important of these coefficients and explains, in some detail, their meaning and significance. The coefficients are considered under the headings: General Considerations; Net Present Value (of Cash Flow); Index of Net Present Value; Profitability and Capital Recovery Factor; Ship Productivity; Average Annual Cost; Minimum Required Freight Rate; Ship's Factor or Index of Merit. Order from: BSRA as No. 47,193.
