COMPUTERIZED GEOTECHNICAL DATA FILES IN THE LABORATOIRES DES PONTS ET CHAUSSEES

FICHIERS DE DONNEES GEOTECHNIQUES SUR ORDINATEUR DANS LES LPC.

After recalling the results obtained with computerized geotechnical data files, the author outlines the principles on which the creation of the files is based. A distinction is made between lithological and stratigraphical data. The former are subdivided into lithological descriptions and identification of lithological facies. The statistical processing of test results is conducted within those lithological types. The lithological facies correspond to more complex lithological units. They can be made into maps (medium or large scale). The principles selected ensure the greatest ease in the processing of geological data taking account of the present methods of collecting data. /TRRL/
