IMPROVEMENT OF MORTARS AND CONCRETES BY THE USE OF EPOXY RESINS

AMELIORATIOHN DES MORTIERS ET BETONS A L'AIDE DE RESINES EPOXYDES.

The part played by synthetic resins in the structuration of hydrated cement pastes appears to be one of the causes of important reductions in shrinkage and cracking, obtained with the use of the epoxy system and particularly with a hardening agent. However, with the increase in strength, resulting from reduction in the water content of the product produced, an additional factor is added which must be attributed to the performance of the synthetic resin itself. As an application of this research, one may cite the introduction of two formulae for high quality grout. These grouts have been used in the grouting of the ducts of a dozen prestressed concrete structures and have given satisfaction. /TRRL/
