VISUAL DISPLAY UNIT, A TOOL FOR SETTING OUT AND PROCESSING THE GEOLOGICAL DATA OF A GIVEN SITE

LA CONSLOE DE VISUALISATION, OUTIL DE REPRESENTATION ET DE TRAITEMENT DES DONNEES GEOLOGIQUES D'UN SITE.

The vercors system consists of a set of programs developed by the SETRA. It is a tool for the geologist enabling the latter to check and process the geological data of a highway project for a given study. When it will be completed, this tool will provide a data file, which will be of immediate use in conventional programs valid even for minor changes in alignment. The vercors uses an IBM 2250 VDU which displays and examines geological cross-sections calculated by the computer. These cross-sections define a network specially set up for linear interpolations and form a numerical model of the geology of the site to be utilized. This model can be automatically processed by computer programs. /TRRL/
