Atlantic Sea Tiger is the new intermodal transportation service at the New York-New Jersey Port that combines the time saving advantages of air freight movement with the cost saving features of ocean transportation. Sea Tiger, as it is called in abbreviated form, greatly reduces the transit time of export/import shipments moving between Europe and the U.S. West Coast via the bi-state port. Possible through the close cooperation of Flying Tigers and Atlantic Container Line, the service is also designed for swift, efficient transport of Asia-bound containerized cargo moving from Europe via the bi-state port and U.S. West Coast. The article provides a brief description of the Service modeled on the Pacific Sea Tiger operation, sample air freight rates and simplified documentation.
