THE OCEAN PHOENIX TANK
The concept of pressurized sea transport of LNG is revived and promises some worthwhile cost savings. The design was engineered by J. J. Henry Co. and includes extensive computer analysis of all stress conditions. The article reviews the ship layout, tank structure, fabrication, modified tank layout, material and weight, and the advantages of the lobed tank's modular design.
