ROAD SAFETY. A MANUAL FOR TEACHERS

The manual covers pedestrian habits, road rules, cycling, traffic signs and signals and the main points regarding the operation and maintenance of motor cars. It sets out stages of road safety instruction by age groups. A number of suggestions are made at each stage, and teachers can include other topics or situations, particularly those with direct local application. It is particularly important for all children to have a working knowledge of the main legal obligations of road users. These are summarised in chapter 7, "principal rules of the road". /TRRL/
