PUBLIC INCONVENIENCE : ACCESS AND TRAVEL IN SEVEN SYDNEY SUBURBS

This monograph is about access in Sydney and the travel of residents getting to places of employment, schools, shops, health services, sport and recreation. The main purposes of the work are (a) to measure how conveniently these activities and facilities are located in relation to where people live, (b) to see whether the process of urban development has resulted in a 'fair' distribution of facilities throughout the metropolitan region, and (C) to describe the journeys made on foot, by public transport and by private transport, and to assess the transport problems that arise when residents have poor access. /Author/IRRD/
