INFLUENCE OF THE MIX DESIGN OF BITUMINOUS MIXTURES ON THEIR FATIGUE BEHAVIOUR
INFLUENCE DES PARAMETRES DE FORMULATION SUR LE COMPORTEMENT A LA FATIGUE D'UN ENROBE BITUMINEUX
The study deals with the influence of the mix design on the complex modulus and especially on the fatigue behaviour of a gravel/bitumen base-course mix. The tests were carried out with a multiple fatigue bending machine on which twelve specimens could be tested simultaneously at a given amplitude of deformation. The experimental scheme adopted permitted a study of the influence of the following factors: angularity; fines content; bitumen content; mineralogical type; voids content. For the first four parameters, their influence is determined at a constant voids ratio and with constant compaction energy. /TRRL/
