An account of the DB's handling of medical problems arising in the transport industry: staff medical examinations, aptitude tests for train-drivers and staff in positions involving safety, ergonomic studies with regard to place of employment such as driver's cabs, study into the physiological effects of very high speeds, retraining schemes, new aptitude profiles, study into distribution of tasks and work-breaks over the working day.
