DEVELOPMENT OF FLY ASH AS A POZZOLAN FOR ECONOMIC CONCRETE
The development of a product specification, as distinct from a national or international specification, has to remain within the general framework of those specifications, but variations are necessary when a knowledge of the prevailing market conditions are established. Here particular advantage can be taken of recent developments in quality control techniques, that not only can be applied to fly ash, but other building materials. To develop such a product specification, a sound basic knowledge of construction methods, climatic effects and concrete technology is essential, so that the fly ash supplied is appropriate for the market.
