ROADSIDE MAINTENANCE: BUDGETS, INNOVATIONS AND PROBLEMS
The article reports on a survey of highway departments, which indicates that roadside maintenance budgets will remain substantially the same for 1977 as they were for 1976, averaging approximately $4 million for those responding to the inquiry. Among the topics discussed in the responses from 12 states that are summarized are herbicides, shoulder patching equipment, problems with litter, mowers, and others.
