SOME DEVELOPMENTS AND ISSUES IN TRANSPORT IN THE UNITED STATES

This report discusses developments and concerns of the U.S. transport community. It is arranged according to the organization chart of the TRB. TRB is organized according to broad subject areas into three major groups. Group 1 concerns itself with the planning for and administration of transport activities and facilities. Group 2 is involved with the design and construction of transport facilities, and group 3 with their operation and maintenance. A 4th group, legal resources, supplements the other groups. The legal group provides an opportunity for attorneys to interact with engineers and others and also provides an opportunity for transport lawyers to talk to each other about matters of mutual concern. /TRRL/
