AN INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS
The integration of construction project operations into a single process is very difficult and practically impossible without the introduction of timesharing systms. This involves two steps: The development of the project management system which contains in their natural sequence all the algorithmic operations necessary for project management; and the computerization of the developed system utilizing the latest concept of time-sharing computer systems. This paper has been concerned with the first step and in its execution has seriously considered the business environment of the construction firm. The system it has developed presents in the simplest way the processes of estimating, scheduling, budgeting, and control as a single unified process. A subsequent paper will consider the computerization and implementation of the system developed utilizing the time-sharing computer concepts. /Author/
