ANALYSIS OF CONTINUOUS BRIDGE DECKS BY MICRO-COMPUTER

ANALISIS EN MICRORODENATOR DE TABLEROS CONINUOUS DE PUENTES

A computer program is described which carries out the longitudinal flexural analysis of continuous prestressed concrete bridge decks of variable cross-sectional area, moment of inertia and width, erected and prestressed in a single phase - that is to say, on falsework and over their entire length, up to a maximum of seven spans. The cross-section of the deck is considered to be indeformable, and torsional effects are not taken into account. The following effects are considered: self-weight of the deck, dead load of superstructure, uniform live load, trains of loads of up to thirty axles, longitudinal prestress. No account is taken of the differential settlement of supports, or thermal gradients in the deck. The results are the stresses arising in each stage of construction and load-testing. The program is intended for use on a micro-computer and is described by reference to two bridge decks which were analysed with its aid. /TRRL/
