DRAINED SAND BEHAVIOR IN AXISYMMETRIC TESTS AT HIGH PRESSURES. DISCUSSION AND CLOSURE
A discussion of a paper with the aforementioned title by J.A. Yamamuro and P.V. Lade, published in this journal (Volume 122, Number 2, February 1996), is presented. The discussion focuses on the result of the isotropic compression test on dense Cambria sand, presenting two different curve-fitting expressions to model each of the sections before and after the inflection point occurring near 10 MPa of the compression curve. The first expression is also suggested for modeling the unloading branch of the experiment, with different parameter values used for unloading. Discussion is followed by closure from the authors.
