TEAMWORK, TECHNOLOGY BOOST RESERVES, OUTPUT OFF NIGERIA
Early this year, joint venture partners Mobil Producing Nigeria and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corp. completed a highly efficient fast-track development project in offshore Asasa field combining batch drilling, focused multidisciplinary teamwork, and an integrated suite of geoscience software. In 1996, the Asasa team drilled and completed 18 development wells in the field. The first well came on line in June 1996 at 4,800 b/d. At this writing the field is producing 140,000 b/d.
