PROCEEDINGS OF THE INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON PRE-FAILURE DEFORMATION OF GEOMATERIALS, SAPPORO, JAPAN 1994. VOLS 1 AND 2
The objective of this publication is to introduce world-wide experiences and new developments on the measurement and application of shear deformation characteristics of a wide spectrum of geomaterials: clays, sands, gravels, soft rocks and cement-treated soils. Volume I contains the papers accepted for the International Symposium on pre-failure deformation characteristics of geomaterials 1994 held in Sapporo, which was organized under the auspices of the Japanese Society of Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering, and also co-sponsored by the Technical Committee on stress-strain testing of geomaterials in the laboratory of the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering. The papers have been devoted to the subjects on 'Measurement of shear deformation of geomaterials' in both laboratory and field tests, 'Modelling of shear deformation of geomaterials' and 'Prediction, performance and design'.
