AUTOMATIC ARC WELDING. PRESENT STATE AND DEVELOPMENT TRENDS

Difficulties in automation of arc welding are reviewed, and methods of solving same are considered. Ways of controlling the welding head are discussed. The effect of the various welding parameters is dealt with in some detail, and their adaptive control is discussed in particular. Examples of automatic welding are given and future developments are outlined.
