THE STATUS AND PROBLEMS IN CONSTRUCTING THE NATIONAL VISITOR CENTER: DEPARTMENTS OF TRANSPORTATION AND THE INTERIOR. NATIONAL CAPITAL PLANNING COMMISSION
The National Visitor Center project in the Nation's Capital was authorized by the Congress in 1968 to provide visitors with tourist services and parking. After nearly 9 years, the project is incomplete and has evolved from a plan for the Government to lease the facility into a complex financial and management arrangement. This report describes the problems encountered during development and construction of the National Visitor Center.
