BUS PRIORITY PLANNING IN ADELAIDE

A review is made of some features which can be used to improve the capacity of the urban road transport system, particularly during peak periods, to carry larger volumes of people, with only small capital investments. The review considers work done in Adelaide on ways of improving bus operations in that city. Features which are expected to reduce the length and variance of bus travel times, such as traffic signal modifications and reserved lanes are described and discussed. /TRRL/
