REPORT ON A HIGHWAY PAVEMENT DESIGN BY CBR METHOD IN COMPARISON WITH THE BENKELMAN BEAM STUDY

The report states the pavement design of the Highway section by the Asphalt Institute CBR method and the detailed studies have been done by both the CBR and California overlay deflection methods in order to compare the two. The CBR method is likely to give more conservative thickness, the California overlay defection method shows corresponding value in every layer of the pavement and proves that it is one of the best methods to be used for checking the appropriate pavement thickness required during the construction. The road section under 5 years study is still in the state that no significant trend of failure appears. Further study has to be made to cinfirm the views stated in the report. /Author/
