Traffic measurements by means of speed recording are carried out for a number of reasons and this leads to different methods of documentation and of describing the road environment responsible for a certain speed level. In the report, parameters to be used in describing survey points are presented, together with methods of evaluation of these parameters. The degree of detail required in describing survey points and the related equipment requirements is discussed. Finally, data storage and recording are briefly discussed. /TRRL/
