IMPROVEMENT OF COURSE STABILITY BY THE SUBSIDIARY AUTOMATIC CONTROL
An investigation has been made to improve the course keeping qualities of an unstable ship by adding a subsidiary automatic control to the manual steering. For this, use has been made of results of full scale experiments with a 200,000 DWT tanker and a simulation study. Some instructive results have been obtained.
