LANDSCAPE EVALUATION. REPORT OF THE LANDSCAPE EVALUATION RESEARCH PROJECT TO THE COUNTRYSIDE COMMISSION FOR ENGLAND AND WALES

The report considers the problems inherent in landscape evaluation and reviews approaches adopted in existing methods of landscape assessment. It then develops two new techniques for evaluating landscape resources for general planning purposes. These new techniques are designed to overcome deficiences which are common to existing field-based and component measurement techniques. The report is a full account of the research carried out and includes the results of field testing and a detailed description of the recommended methods for landscape evaluation. /Author/TRRL/
