INFLUENCE OF WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION ON ROLLING OF AN LNG CARRIER

This paper discusses the various effects of the weight distribution on the roll motion of an LNG-carrier based upon model test results. The tests consisted of extinction tests in calm water as well as roll response tests in regular beam waves. The results of the wave tests were compared with those calculated by means of the much used simplified equation for pure rolling.
