PLANNING AND CONSTRUCTION OF A COMPUTERIZED TRAFFIC CONTROL SYSTEM

Applications of modern electrical/mechanical/control technologies result in highly successful traffic control systems when such applications are coupled with proper technical management considerations. Some of these major planning and managerial concerns discussed include: development of objectives; basic functions; environmental requirements; contractors qualifications and contract administration. Also included is a representative checklist of general items to aid in project planning and implementation. Further, suggestions are offered on evaluation, operation and maintenance planning.
