MODELLING URBAN FREIGHT GENERATION
This paper reviews the application of regression-type models in analysing the generation of urban freight, and presents the results of an investigation of the use of such models using data for Melbourne, Australia. The equations which were developed for relating zonal truck trip attraction and production to zonal land-use variables explained a high proportion of the variance in trip-making between zones. However, similar equations relating zonal goods generation in tonnes by commodity to land-use variables were not as successful. /Author/TRRL/
