DEVELOPMENT OF CONTACTLESS SMART CARDS IN GERMANY
The article deals with the development of contactless smart cards in Germany. Four technologies are available to bridge the gap between the banking world and the contactless application of electronic purses in public transit. A ticketing management system's project has started within the framework of the EU's Telematic Applications program, and this system is being tested and applied in four European regions described.
