CONTINUOUS UNLOADER FOR BULK MATERIALS
In the field of bulk materials handling, it is the unloading of ships that is presently the most difficult problem to be solved. The grabs in general use are unable to cope with the increasing deadweight of vessels or with operations such as materials conveying, stockpiling, reclaiming, ship loading etc. This is a problem to which Delattre-Levivier have addressed themselves since 1969 when they started the development of a continuous unloader for bulk vessels. Following extensive tests conducted on a scale model at one of their factories, Delattre-Levivier are now in a position to offer high performance continuous unloaders from 500 to 5,000 tons/hr for handling vessels ranging from 5,000 tdw to the large bulk carriers of 200,000 tdw. The first of these continuous unloaders, ordered by the Chamber of Commerce of Saint Malo, is presently being built and is due for commissioning in February 1978.
