GEOMETRICAL STUDY ON THE POSITIONING OF SPREAD MOORED VESSELS
The spread mooring system has been applied to the position keeping of vessels such as ocean exploring jobs and civil engineering jobs on water. The most important point of the positioning in the spread moored vessel is how all mooring lines can cope with the required displacement or rotation of the vessel. A formula is presented which provides the relationship between the displacement or rotation of the vessel and the required pulling or extending lengths of the mooring lines.
