INVESTIGATION OF WIRE ROPE SERVICE REQUIREMENTS AND DESIGN PARAMETERS

The report covers a study of the use of wire rope by the U. S. Navy. This Central Information Source brings together pertinent information regarding what wire ropes are being used, how they are used, and what problems are encountered with their use. Naval wire rope and applicable design specifications are reviewed. Procurement and supply aspects of wire rope are also covered. A Wire Rope-Status Form contains descriptive information on each of the wire ropes. ( Author )
