VERTICAL EFFECTS OF VEHICLES ON THE BED
Owing to increasing speeds and axle forces of the railway vehicles and the growing volume of traffic the bed is increasingly loaded and needs restoration. Conventional methods are rather expensive and cannot always be realized, as it illustrated by the Prague-Bratislava line. New methods of bed restoration are therefore suggested, whose evaluation needs a more exact knowledge of forces in the bed under load. Stresses are analysed, the mathematical model of the effect of a force moving in the elastic-isotropic half-space is considered, and is compared with results of laboratory measurements.
