SAFETY REQUIREMENTS IN THE DESIGN OF FIXED OFFSHORE PLATFORMS
The present engagement by Det Norske Veritas in the quality assurance of fixed offshore structures is reviewed. A presentation is made of significant safety requirements. The paper deals with environmental conditions, loads, structural response and foundation problems. Safety as a total concept is briefly discussed.
