PATTERNS OF INTERNATIONAL SEABORNE TRADE

The growth of world trade over the past 20 years is reviewed, and three factors are identified: liberal trade policy throughout the world, radical improvement in the technology of sea transportation, and improved technology within the mining and mineral producing sector.
