The main role of this ship is to maintain harbor and channel facilities and to develop dredging work in shallow waters around Kamchatka, U.S.S.R. This ship is equipped with a long discharge boom for the agitation dredging work and is capable of three kinds of dredged matter discharging methods: agitation dredging, shore dredging, and hopper dumping methods.
