NUCLEAR SHIPS: ENGINEERING A FUTURE TRANSPORT SYSTEM
Nuclear power has been introduced as a propulsion plant for ships. The utilization and application of nuclear power plants on board ship brings up a series of technical, safety and economic questions. The technical solutions are demonstrated by the nuclear propelled container vessel NCS-80 with a reactor system of the EFDR-type which is now in the licensing procedure.
