SCIENTIFIC FOUNDATIONS OF MEANS AND METHODS FOR PREVENTING OIL POLLUTION OF THE SEA
The paper discusses various methods studied in the USSR for cleaning up oil spills. These include an emulsion technique and detergents for closed-cycle cleaning of tankers; localization of spills and sorbing them from the water surface with polyurethane foams; and the use of surface-active agents to disperse thin films.
