STATISTICAL COMPARISON OF TWO STREET CANYON MODELS FOR PREDICTING URBAN TRAFFIC RELATED AIR QUALITY

The purpose of the comparison was to assess the relative abilities of the two models to predict the so-called secondary impacts of the West Side Highway on local street, traffic-induced air quality in Manhattan. The two models chosen for this comparison were a simple "box" model developed expressly for the West Side Highway Project and the street canyon portion of the Stanford Research Institute's urban diffusion model.
