LAW ENFORCEMENT AND PEDESTRIAN BEHAVIOUR

WETSHANDHAVING EN HET GEDRAG VAN DE VOETGANGER

On the whole, there is still little scientific insight into road traffic regulations and their effects on pedestrian safety. Because of their behavioural characteristics, pedestrians are difficult to influence by means of such regulations, even combined with an increased level of police supervision. This applies especially to children and elderly people. Attention is drawn to the need for better methods of detecting such offences. /TRRL/
